Harlan C. Amstutz, M.D. is the founding director of the Joint Replacement Institute and is one of several doctors that have conducted over 1,000 hip replacement and hip resurfacing procedures. He is also Professor Emeritus and former Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California at Los Angeles.
